Research Interest

Our lab is interested in epithelial stem cell biology, specifically the role of these stem cells in the epithelial self-renewal and cancer of various organs such as esophagus, stomach and intestines. Through identification of epithelial cell-surface markers, state-of-the-art in vivo mouse models and in vitro models such as mouse and human-derived 3D organoids, we elucidate the role of these stem cells in various biological contexts such as development, homeostasis and cancer.
